Why Is My Printer Printing With No Ink? How to Troubleshoot and Fix No Inks Issues

Question
Why Does My Printer Print Without Ink? I’ve taken several steps to try to resolve the problem. I pulled ink off the dampers and changed some of them. I removed the print head and cleaned it thoroughly before reassembling everything, but now the printer has stopped working ink-wise. I also contacted customer service, who recommended wiping the cables, cleaning the waste ink pad, and running some tests, but they didn't work either. Can you help me with that?

Answer
Thanks for coming to us with your question, and I’m sorry for the delay in answering. I understand the urgency that printer issues can bring, and I respect that we need to take the time to address your concerns in a way that gives them the attention they need. Thank you for your support and for following us on our YouTube channel at BCH Technologies (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies), where your comments help us improve as technical experts.

Let’s look into your printer problem and see if we can find a solution.
First, give yourself a pat for that tremendous initial troubleshooting! You’ve already ruled out a few possible culprits, including the printhead (in most cases) and capping station, which is nice. Then, it makes sense to check out the printer’s mainboard. The specific checks I recommend are:

Check The F1 Fuse on the Mainboard
  • This F1 fuse is essential for controlling electrical current. A damaged fuse might prevent the printer from signaling the printhead. Test the fuse with a multimeter for continuity and replace it if it’s terrible.
Inspect the Driver Chip and Replace the Q601 Component
  • The driver chip controls the printhead, and any failure in this part can cause the problems you’re experiencing. Equally, Q601 is a device to check; if it is faulty, it will prevent the printhead from working. If you’re not confident about these components, a technician may need to check and replace them.
Run a Printhead Test Using a Known Good Printhead
  • Although you’ve already performed a deep clean of your current printhead, it may be de-laminated, a state in which the layers of the printhead become separated, making it physically useless. A known working printhead can confirm whether the issue is with that.
Additional Checks
Please ensure the ribbon cables connecting the printhead to the mainboard are securely seated and not damaged. Even minor displacement or tear will break the signal.
Printer problems like these are usually more of a methodical problem-solving hands-on work.
