Question:
I have a Procolored L1800; who should I turn to? We suspect a blockage in the capping station, but we do not know how to resolve it. We’ve cleaned the printhead, but the ink leaks from the capping station's pad. Are we doing something incorrectly, or what more could we do? I’ve been unsuccessfully looking for Punehod’s customer service number, and this site appeared in my search. Can you help us sort this out?

Troubleshooting a Capping Station: Step by Step
Know How Capping Station Works:
The capping station is the most critical part of the maintenance of the printhead. It keeps the printhead sealed when not in use to prevent the ink from drying, helps clean the nozzles, and diverts waste ink. When it clogs it or Damage it will cause:
- Leaking ink onto the ink pad.
- Preventing it from being cleaned and primed correctly.
- Closed tubes cause waste ink backflow.
Completely Clean the Capping Station:
- Please clean up the nozzles at the capping station to unblock them and make them work.
- To clean and maintain the capping station, please watch the video (https://youtu.be/RVtQLe2wTsk) and follow the steps.
Check the Waste Ink Tubes:
- The waste ink tubes may be blocked. They're connected to the capping station; if they're blocked inside, the ink may leak and run out of the pad.
- This video tutorial (https://youtu.be/J9im3s8UJfo) describes inspecting and clearing these tubes to re-establish normal waste ink flow.
- Please make sure your robot works appropriately, and you can test it without messing up the printer.
- If cleaning does not work, then it’s time for a more in-depth look: disassemble the capping station.
