Guide to Diagnosing and Fixing Spongeless Cartridge Conversion Problems

Question:
After refilling my spongeless cartridge kit, I’m getting print results that are all over the place. My nozzle check indicates too much ink splatter, but all nozzles seem to fire correctly. I think I sanded the cartridge too much during the modification. Is this the reason, or is there a chance my ink is defective? https://bchtechnologies.com/products/modification-kit-for-making-spongeless-cartridge-with-canon-pg-210-cl-211-pg-240-cl-241-pg-245-cl-246-pg-243-cl-244-as-rfc-cb2?_pos=1&_sid=886a7b270&_ss=r

Answer: We truly apologize for not being able to respond earlier. Do printers always have an issue that requires urgent attention? We want to make sure that every concern is looked into. Understanding the Issues
The image you provided, along with your description,n reveals two significant problems:

Ink Splash and Nozzle Behavior

  • Your nozzle check pattern shows splashing, but no nozzles are missing. This indicates an open nozzle and not a blocked one, but it is a wiper issue that creates a back pressure under the cartridge.

  • The ink collects when it builds up under the cartridge, disrupts the method of spraying it, and leads to improved ink. To resolve this:
    • Could you wipe the bottom of the cartridge with a paper towel and try printing again?
    • Could you check the cartridge's top cover for a pin-hole air leak? Air can slowly seep through that gap if it isn’t correctly sealed with glue, which ultimately can damage ink flow—even a little—leading to ink leaking out.

Prominent Horizontal Banding on the Printout

  • That banding suggests that the cartridge is not seated level within the printer. If the cartridge is improperly sanded, this can happen.
  • This causes inconsistent ink distribution on the nozzle plate, which will cause visible banding if one side of the cartridge is slightly higher or lower.
  • To fix this:
  • Compensate for any uneven placement with extensive print head alignment
  • Check the cartridge position so that it sits flat inside the printer.
  • If the cartridge was sanded too much on one side, thin adhesive shims or other leveling techniques may help.

Next Steps
If these changes don't fix the issue, another level of troubleshooting may be needed.

Printer issues can be complex due to the hands-on approach to solving the problems. Therefore, we cannot offer remote troubleshooting, advice, or printer repair services. Our local diagnostic center provides an in-person evaluation and repair service ([https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service]), and due to high demand, all of our services are first-come, first-served. Well, it could take weeks before we get your printer delivered. Instead, we structure our services to restore a whole printer or specific parts with clear instructions on what to do next. But we realize our rates are not the most affordable price. So we suggest you go self-help route by researching online.” Visit YouTube here and visit the homepage of our YouTube Channel ([https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies]); locate specific videos using the search icon adjacent to "About" in the right-hand section of the menu bar. I get dozens of daily inquiries asking if there is a video for various topics. I cannot remember every video since I have made videos for nine years. So, the best way to do it would be to use the YouTube search function. YouTube may also recommend relevant videos from other channels that could help you.
Thank you for your continued patience and efforts to troubleshoot this issue. If you need more help, that's great. Thanks again for reaching out, and we hope you have the best solution for your printer!
