Question:
After changing the mainboard, I got an error message: "Printer mode, set jig, push touch PNL." To load the firmware, I need the Epson Adjustment Program. Can you help me with this?
Answer:
Thank you for reaching out! I apologize for the delay in responding, and I appreciate your patience. I understand that printer issues are urgent, and I would like to give you the most thorough and detailed response possible. We at BCH Technologies value your engagement and support, mainly through our YouTube channel, BCH Technologies. Your feedback plays a key role in helping us expand our technical expertise.
As for your problem with the Epson ET-5180 display, the firmware is stuck in factory checking mode because of a raised flag. This is frequently the case post-new mainboard. The firmware is configured to check the board, components, etc., but it is not yet fully configured. The message "Printer mode, set jig, push touch PNL" appears when the printer enters a semi-state, waiting for setup steps or commands expected by the firmware.
The Epson Adjustment Program should work here, but the firmware has failed to communicate with the printer's EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory). Because that flag was raised in factory mode, the Adjustment Program generally wouldn't have permission to write to the EEPROM. The Answer to this problem may have nothing to do with the Adjustment Program. You must use an EEPROM programmer to install the necessary firmware or settings directly into the EE. Getting the key out of the EEPROMDumping the EEPROM → Writing the key→: Writing a new key into the EEPROM. This differs from the storage process because it's very technical and requires hardware to talk to the EEPROM chip.
Unfortunately, this is not a straightforward repair, and I'd like you to please be careful about loading more firmware. If you don't have any experience with EEPROM programming, I suggest letting an expert do that job or contacting your local service center.
It isn't always feasible to offer remote troubleshooting or assist with repairs because printer issues can be complex, hands-on, and, to some capacity, physical. We are not talking about in-house evaluation/repair of your printer through our local diagnostic facility, BCH Technologies Printer Repair Service [https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service]; our services operate on a first-come, first-served basis due to the high demand so it may take weeks for us to look at your printer. We also provide complete printer or parts support along with the guidelines. We believe we do good-quality repair but realize our rates are not the lowest.
We recommend self-help information from our YouTube channel, BCH Technologies [https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies], to help you. There are a lot of videos to browse, but you can search for specific ones, as we've created a vast library over time. YouTube will also recommend helpful videos from other channels.
Thanks again for getting in touch, and please let me know if you require any further assistance!
