At BCH Technologies, we take pride in over 14 years of hands-on experience refurbishing printheads — both for repair and resale. Our dedicated technicians have mastered the art and science of restoring printheads to peak performance, combining precision, industry knowledge, and proprietary techniques that ensure long-lasting results.

Every year, we refurbish between 1,000 and 1,500 printheads, covering a wide range of printer models and technologies. This volume not only reflects our customers’ trust but also our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in quality control, testing, and performance verification.

Now, for the first time, we are opening up this professional refurbishing service to our customers. Whether you’re an individual user, a print shop, or a repair center, you can now benefit from the same expertise and processes that have powered our internal operations for years.

From piezo chip cleaning and nozzle recovery to micro-component inspection and resealing, each printhead is treated with care and tested rigorously before being approved for return or resale.

By choosing BCH Technologies, you’re not just getting a refurbished printhead — you’re investing in proven experience, reliability, and transparency built over a decade of continuous improvement.

Step 1: Initial Electronic Test (Test-1)

Purpose:
To determine whether each printhead is electronically functional and safe for further processing.

What We Do:

  • Verify all electrical connections and resistance readings.

  • Check thermal profiles for shorts, open lines, and abnormal heating.

  • Ensure the printhead will not damage your printer’s mainboard.

Process:
Customers send in their printheads for the initial evaluation. After testing, we provide a report showing how many printheads passed and failed. You can then decide which heads to continue to the next stage.

Turnaround Time:
Typically 1–3 business days after receiving the printheads.

Shipping:
Customers pay for all shipping costs, both to and from BCH Technologies.

Step 2: Mechanical and Nozzle Evaluation (Test-2)

Purpose:
To evaluate the internal and physical condition of the printhead and determine its repairability. Notice the bad printhead will not be returned at and after step 2 because they will be disassembled for it to work.

What We Do:

  • Perform a deep cleaning to remove dried ink, clogs, and debris.

  • Remove the nozzle plate for internal access.

  • Examine Piezo chip and membrane,

  • Clean nozzle channels and examine the array under microscope.

  • Count damaged or missing nozzles to assess viability.

If more than 10% of the nozzles are damaged, the printhead is classified as non-repairable.

Important:

  • Printheads that fail Test-2 are disposed of and will not be returnable.

  • Notice: Bad printheads will not be returned at and after Step 2 because they must be disassembled during testing, and once disassembled, they can no longer function or be reassembled for reuse.

  • Only passing units move forward to the repair stage.

Step 3: Printhead Restoration

Purpose:
To restore printhead performance and ensure stable ink delivery.

What We Do:

  • Conduct nozzle-to-nozzle cleaning and restoration to clear each channel.

  • Glue the nozzle plate back in place, ensuring precise alignment.

  • Perform final testing and adjustment to confirm electrical stability and nozzle pattern performance.

Turnaround Time for Steps 2 and 3:
Approximately 4–6 weeks total, depending on workload and printhead condition.

Before beginning repairs, we will notify you of the count of repairable units and collect payment for this phase.

Disclaimer: BCH Technologies provides printhead repair services on a best-effort basis. Due to factors outside our control, such as prior damage, ink contamination, or electrical failure, no guarantee of repair success, print quality, or longevity is made or implied.
