Today we're going to test how many pages each refill method can print in each review. Before we start, we have a mission that we use the BCH test page. You may have seen HP. It says how many pages a cartridge can print. The HP's number is based on a test page called ISO IEC 24712 2007 test page. If you've seen the test page, it simulates a regular document that doesn't use much ink. For XL, we got 480. We divide it by 1.9, and that's 252 pages.

If we use 63 XL cartridges to print the BCH test page, we'll probably be able to print 252 pages. For the first test, we try the regular 63-cartridge. Those starters and standard cartridges, by regular, I mean XL cartridges, all have a smaller sponge, so it doesn't hold much ink. We just injected ink into the sponge and did a little bit of unclogging, and it is ready to go. You can check the YouTube video for a detailed process. After this is done, we're going to compare the refillable cartridge.

We'll put a green tab for every 50 pages printed. We finally run out being at 97 pages which is about 185 ISO pages, and compare this result to HPs spec, which like the colors, is they're supposed to print between 165 to 190 pages. We would refill a regular cartridge. Your printout number is pretty similar to a new cartridge. For the second test, we did some surgery. We made a refillable sponge cartridge by cutting open the cartridge and replace the small sponge with our bigger one. You can check out this link for a detailed procedure. Eventually, we printed out 269 pages which are about a 511 ISO.

We check the XL cartridge, XL can print about 300 to 500 pages, so our result is pretty much in the ballpark with the XL cartridge. We get rid of the sponge for the final test and install a unique cover with an air pressure regulator. Now the cartridge is spongeless, and we can use the whole cartridge to hold the ink. Eventually, we printed the 407 pages, which is about 773 ISO pages. If we go back to the HP specifications, we can see a spongeless cartridge is 68% more than the XL version of the cartridge. If we compare the spongeless cartridge to a regular cartridge, a spongeless cartridge can print four times of standard cartridges. It's three times more than a regular cartridge.
